ParseStatement alternative: stmtai vs ParseStatement
ParseStatement (Parse Statement) converts PDF statements from about 90 sources, with pages for Indian banks and for PhonePe, Google Pay and Paytm wallet statements, and sells pages cheaply by the month. stmtai converts bank and card statements from any bank and leads with the balance check, Tally XML and an API on every plan. This page compares the two on price, exports, Tally, the API and what each publishes about your file. Facts are from parsestatement.com in October 2026.

When ParseStatement is the better choice
- PhonePe, Google Pay or Paytm wallet statements: ParseStatement has a page for each; we convert bank and card statements.
- Volume on a small budget: $9 a month for 500 pages and $39 for 5,000, with unused pages rolling over up to twice the allowance.
- You want OFX or QIF output, or Google Sheets directly (paid plans).
When stmtai is the better choice
- You import into TallyPrime: Receipt and Payment vouchers as XML for Alt+O import, in the free pages too; ParseStatement lists a Tally CSV on paid plans.
- You convert in bursts: a $19 pack buys 100 pages that never expire, with no monthly bill, and no statement is charged more than 15 pages.
- You want the REST API and email-in on every plan including Free, documented in the open at /docs/api.
- You want to know what happens to the upload: deletion of your file starts when processing ends. ParseStatement's homepage and pricing page do not say what happens to theirs.

Questions
Is ParseStatement cheaper than stmtai?
Per page on a subscription, yes: ParseStatement charges $9 for 500 pages a month against Pro at $29 for 300. What you are paying for differs: Tally XML, the .qbo, the API and email-in are in our free pages, and a $19 pack never expires, so occasional use costs nothing in the quiet months.
Does ParseStatement export Tally XML?
Its pricing page lists a Tally CSV on paid plans and its homepage links a Tally conversion page; a voucher XML for Alt+O import is not listed there (checked October 2026). Ours writes Receipt and Payment vouchers between the bank ledger and a Statement Import Clearing ledger, which TallyPrime imports under Alt+O, Import, Transactions.
Can I try both?
Yes, and neither needs an account for the first 5 pages. Drop the same statement into each and compare the totals each one shows against the printed closing balance.
