Bank statement to Excel.
Reconciled before you import.

Turn a PDF bank or credit card statement into a real Excel workbook: one row per transaction, amounts as numbers (not text), dates as dates, and a Summary sheet that proves the rows add up to the printed closing balance.

Step by step: PDF statement to Excel

  1. Drop the statement PDF (or a scan or photo) on the home page.
  2. Check the balance badge. Green means opening + money in − money out equals the printed closing balance. Red names the first row to look at.
  3. Click Excel. The .xlsx has a Transactions sheet and a Summary sheet with the balance check and a totals-by-category table.
  4. Open it. Amounts are numeric cells, so SUM, pivot tables and VLOOKUP work immediately. Relabel the Category column and the totals table follows, with blank rows for labels of your own.

What usually goes wrong, and how this avoids it

  • Copy-paste from a PDF gives you amounts as text with currency symbols; SUM returns 0.
  • Many converters put debits and credits in one column with no sign, so you cannot tell direction without the original.
  • Multi-line descriptions become extra rows, which shifts every balance below them.

Excel questions

Will the amounts be numbers or text in Excel?

Numbers. Money out is negative in the Amount column, and there are separate Out and In columns too. Dates are real Excel dates.

Can I convert a whole year of statements at once?

Yes. Drop up to 12 files; you get one Excel workbook with an Overview sheet listing each statement and whether it balanced, a sheet per statement with categories, and a Categories sheet that totals the whole year by category with live formulas.

What about Google Sheets or Numbers?

Open the .xlsx directly, or download the CSV instead.
