Convert Deutsche Bank statements to Excel.
Checked to the cent.

Drop a Deutsche Bank PDF and get a clean spreadsheet, QuickBooks or Xero file in seconds. Every row is checked against the balances printed on the statement, so a misread is flagged, not hidden.

How to download a Deutsche Bank statement as a PDF

  1. Log in to Deutsche Bank Online-Banking. In the top menu choose Nachrichten (messages), then Postfach (the digital mailbox). Statements only land here if the Postfach is switched on; if it is not, activate it under Nachrichten > Postfach verwalten and the next Auszug will arrive digitally.
  2. Filter the Postfach by document type Kontoauszüge (account statements) and, if you have several accounts, by the account.
  3. Each entry is one Kontoauszug, numbered Auszug 1, 2, 3 and so on within the year. Open the one you want and it displays as a PDF.
  4. Use the download icon to save it. Name the file with the Auszug number as well as the date, because a busy account can produce two in the same week.
  5. In the Deutsche Bank App the path is Nachrichten > Postfach anzeigen. Tap the statement, then the share or save control to get the PDF onto your device.

Then drop the file above. Several months at once is fine; a year comes back as one workbook with a sheet per month.

Before you upload: is the PDF password-protected?

Deutsche Bank Kontoauszüge from the Postfach are plain PDFs with no password. Upload them as they are.

What Deutsche Bank statements look like

Kontoauszug with Buchungstag, Wert, Verwendungszweck, Soll, Haben and a Kontostand line per page.

A Deutsche Bank Kontoauszug is not a monthly statement in the way an English-speaking client expects. The bank issues one whenever a batch of Buchungen has accumulated, so a quiet Girokonto produces one a month while a Geschäftskonto can produce several, each a page or two long. Columns are Buchung (posting date), Valuta (value date), Vorgang (transaction, including the multi-line Verwendungszweck) and then either Soll and Haben as two columns or a single Betrag with a minus sign, depending on the account and the year. Dates are DD.MM.YYYY, sometimes shortened to DD.MM. inside the table with the year only in the heading, and amounts follow German convention: 1.234,56 with a comma decimal. Every Auszug opens with Alter Kontostand and closes with Neuer Kontostand, which is what makes checking a run of them straightforward once the numbers are read correctly.

Where Deutsche Bank statements trip up other converters

  • German number format (1.234,56) and dd.mm.yyyy dates are read correctly; output uses standard decimals so Excel treats them as numbers.

None of this is bank-specific configuration. The balance check catches these cases for every bank; this list just explains what you will see on a Deutsche Bank file.

Why not just use Deutsche Bank's own export?

The Umsatzanzeige (transaction view) in Online-Banking can export what is on screen, and business customers with a Deutsche Bank business banking contract can pull CAMT.053 or MT940 for their accounting system. The on-screen export covers a limited stretch of recent activity and does not give you the Alter Kontostand and Neuer Kontostand lines that every Kontoauszug carries, so there is nothing to reconcile against. CAMT and MT940 are fine if your software imports them, but they are XML and SWIFT text, not something to open in Excel. For a Steuerberater who wants the formal document, or for any period older than a few months, converting the Postfach PDFs is the practical route.

What you get back

  1. A green Balanced badge when the printed opening balance plus money in minus money out equals the printed closing balance, row by row. Or a red one pointing at the first row that does not add up, with a one-click swap if debit and credit look reversed.
  2. Click any misread cell, correct it, and the check re-runs before you download.
  3. Download Excel, CSV, QuickBooks (.qbo), Xero CSV or Tally XML, whichever DATEV (via CSV) imports best, with a suggested category on every row.

Deutsche Bank questions

My Deutsche Bank amounts are written 1.234,56. Will the spreadsheet treat them as numbers?

Yes, that is exactly the case the converter is built for. The comma is read as the decimal separator and the period as a thousands separator, and the output cells are true numbers rather than text. If your Excel is set to English regional settings the values will display as 1,234.56, which is the same figure. Check the Neuer Kontostand against your own total on the first file and you will see whether anything slipped.

Why do my Auszüge have numbers rather than months, and does a gap in the numbering mean I am missing one?

Deutsche Bank numbers statements sequentially within each calendar year, restarting at Auszug 1 in January, and produces them when there are postings to report rather than on a fixed date. A gap in the sequence does mean one is missing from your set. Sort the Postfach by date, download the run for the year, and the Neuer Kontostand of one should equal the Alter Kontostand of the next.

How far back does the Postfach go?

The bank does not publish a fixed archive length for the digital Postfach, and it only holds statements issued after the Postfach was activated, so accounts that were on paper until recently will have a short digital history. Before promising a client a full ten-year GoBD archive from downloads alone, open the Postfach and look at the earliest Auszug actually listed. Older years may have to come from paper or from a statement copy request.

How do I convert a Deutsche Bank statement PDF to Excel?

Download the statement PDF from Deutsche Bank online banking or the app, drop it on this page, and wait about 10 to 40 seconds. You get every transaction in a table, a balance check against the printed opening and closing balance, and Excel, CSV, QuickBooks, Xero and Tally XML downloads. The first 5 pages are free with no account.

Do I need a Deutsche Bank template?

No. The statement is read the way a person reads it, so Deutsche Bank layout changes do not break anything. What protects you is the balance check: opening balance plus money in minus money out must equal the printed closing balance, row by row.

Does it work with scanned Deutsche Bank statements?

Yes. Scanned PDFs and phone photos are read visually. Blurry pages may produce a flagged row; the check tells you exactly which one to look at.

Can I import Deutsche Bank transactions into DATEV (via CSV)?

Yes. Excel and CSV work everywhere else, including DATEV (via CSV), Lexoffice.

How many Deutsche Bank statements can I convert at once?

Up to 12 files at a time, 60 pages each. A year of monthly statements comes back as one Excel workbook with an Overview sheet showing which months balanced, a sheet per month with a Category column, and a Categories sheet totalling the year by category.

What happens to my statement?

It is processed once and deletion is attempted as soon as processing finishes; an AWS lifecycle rule removes anything left behind. The extracted table becomes eligible for deletion after 7 days (1 day without an account). Nothing is used for training.
