Checked to the cent.

Drop a Emirates NBD PDF and get a clean spreadsheet, QuickBooks or Xero file in seconds. Every row is checked against the balances printed on the statement, so a misread is flagged, not hidden.

How to download a Emirates NBD statement as a PDF

  1. The routine route is the monthly e-Statement email. Every statement cycle Emirates NBD sends the PDF to your registered email address, and only if there were transactions in the period. Save the attachment from that email.
  2. For a specific past month, log in to Online Banking or the ENBD X app, open the account and use the statement request option (the label has moved between app versions, so look under the account services or requests menu). Choose the period; the PDF is emailed to the registered address rather than downloaded in the browser.
  3. Check that the registered email is current first: Online Banking, Profile. A statement sent to an old address cannot be re-routed.
  4. Open the emailed PDF with the password described below, then save an unlocked copy (Print to PDF, or Remove Security in your PDF reader) before uploading.
  5. Business customers on businessONLINE: Account Services, choose the account and period, then right-click the line for the statement to download as PDF, Excel, CSV or MT940.

Then drop the file above. Several months at once is fine; a year comes back as one workbook with a sheet per month.

Before you upload: is the PDF password-protected?

Yes, personal e-Statements are password-protected. The bank states that the password is the primary CIF ID, which is the middle 8 digits of the account number; the customer service centre on 600 54 0000 can confirm it if the account holder is unsure. Credit card statements are sent separately and the covering email states which password applies. Once open, save an unprotected copy before uploading.

What Emirates NBD statements look like

Date, Description, Debit, Credit, Balance, sometimes with an Arabic/English bilingual header.

Emirates NBD statements are bilingual: the header, column titles and footer notes appear in English with the Arabic alongside or beneath, and the Arabic text is right-aligned. The transaction table runs Date, Description, Debit, Credit and Balance in AED for a dirham account, with dates as DD/MM/YYYY and amounts in the Western 1,234.56 format, so no decimal-comma issues here. Descriptions are upper case and terse, POS-PURCHASE with the merchant and a card ending, IPP or TT for transfers, and the salary credit labelled by the WPS reference. On the e-Statement the account number and address are partly masked for security, which is fine for conversion but worth knowing when you match files to accounts. A foreign currency sub-account gets its own statement in its own currency, and no statement is produced at all for a month with no transactions.

Where Emirates NBD statements trip up other converters

  • Bilingual headers are handled; the currency is taken from the account header.

None of this is bank-specific configuration. The balance check catches these cases for every bank; this list just explains what you will see on a Emirates NBD file.

Why not just use Emirates NBD's own export?

For personal accounts Emirates NBD does not offer a CSV or OFX download alongside the transaction view, so the emailed PDF is effectively the export. The transaction history in the app is browsable but not something you can pull into a spreadsheet directly. Business customers on businessONLINE get PDF, Excel, CSV and MT940 for the periods they select, which is the right feed for a corporate ledger. The bank also issues authenticated (stamped) statements on request, up to 6 months through the website and up to 3 years at a branch, but those are for official use rather than bookkeeping. For personal and SME accounts, converting the monthly PDFs is the only practical way to a spreadsheet.

What you get back

  1. A green Balanced badge when the printed opening balance plus money in minus money out equals the printed closing balance, row by row. Or a red one pointing at the first row that does not add up, with a one-click swap if debit and credit look reversed.
  2. Click any misread cell, correct it, and the check re-runs before you download.
  3. Download Excel, CSV, QuickBooks (.qbo), Xero CSV or Tally XML, whichever Zoho Books imports best, with a suggested category on every row.

Emirates NBD questions

The Emirates NBD PDF asks for a password and I do not have the client's CIF number. What can I do?

The password is the primary CIF ID, which the bank says is the middle 8 digits of the account number, so the client can usually read it off their IBAN or a previous paper statement. Typing errors and a trailing space are the common failures, and a client with several accounts may have more than one CIF. If it still will not open, the client can call 600 54 0000 to confirm the number; the converter cannot bypass the protection.

Does the Arabic text on the statement interfere with reading the numbers?

No. The Arabic header and labels are recognised as labels and left out of the transaction table, and the amounts and dates are read from the English-language columns. The output is an English-language spreadsheet. If a description line itself contains Arabic, as with some local merchants, it is kept in the description cell as Unicode text.

Why is there no statement for one of the months?

Emirates NBD does not generate a statement for a billing period with no transactions, regardless of the balance. If the account was genuinely idle, the closing balance of the month before and the opening balance of the month after will be the same and you can note the gap. If there should have been activity, check the spam folder and the registered email address before requesting a copy.

How do I convert a Emirates NBD statement PDF to Excel?

Download the statement PDF from Emirates NBD online banking or the app, drop it on this page, and wait about 10 to 40 seconds. You get every transaction in a table, a balance check against the printed opening and closing balance, and Excel, CSV, QuickBooks, Xero and Tally XML downloads. The first 5 pages are free with no account.

Do I need a Emirates NBD template?

No. The statement is read the way a person reads it, so Emirates NBD layout changes do not break anything. What protects you is the balance check: opening balance plus money in minus money out must equal the printed closing balance, row by row.

Does it work with scanned Emirates NBD statements?

Yes. Scanned PDFs and phone photos are read visually. Blurry pages may produce a flagged row; the check tells you exactly which one to look at.

Can I import Emirates NBD transactions into Zoho Books?

Yes. For Xero, download the Xero CSV and use Import a Statement on the bank account. Excel and CSV work everywhere else, including Zoho Books.

How many Emirates NBD statements can I convert at once?

Up to 12 files at a time, 60 pages each. A year of monthly statements comes back as one Excel workbook with an Overview sheet showing which months balanced, a sheet per month with a Category column, and a Categories sheet totalling the year by category.

What happens to my statement?

It is processed once and deletion is attempted as soon as processing finishes; an AWS lifecycle rule removes anything left behind. The extracted table becomes eligible for deletion after 7 days (1 day without an account). Nothing is used for training.
