Bank statement converters for password-protected PDFs (2026)
Which bank statement converters open password-protected PDFs, as stated on their own pages?
Last updated
Last checked October 2026. Deciding column: Password PDFs. 7 tools listed, 19 left out as not published.
What the table shows
Seven of the 26 converters checked in October 2026 open password-protected PDFs on their own homepage or pricing page: stmtai, ParseBank, BankQBO, BankXLSX, Suparse, CreditCardToExcel and StatementToBudget. Many banks encrypt the statement PDF; the question is whether the tool asks for the password or refuses the file. ParseBank lists $30/month for 400 pages (Starter); $60/month for 1,000 pages (Business, adds the REST API); $99/month for 4,000 pages (Corporate); monthly plans only; CreditCardToExcel lists Flat rate per statement: Pro $19/month for 30 statements of up to 50 pages each; a Business tier with 100 statements of up to 200 pages (its figure is not readable in the fetched text). ParseStatement, DocuClipper, LedgerBox, MoneyThumb, Lido, ConvertStatement, Rocket Statements, Parseur, Nanonets, Docsumo, FlowParse, CapyParse, Documentric, StatementVision, MintConvert, CleanStmt, StatementTable, StatementBridge and EasyLedger do not say on the pages read whether they open password-protected PDFs, so they are left out rather than guessed. stmtai is in the list on the same terms, and so are its limits: 12-file batch cap, no MT940, BAI2 or camt.053 input, no analytics. Every cell below names the page it was read from; a value the site does not show is printed as not published.
- Tally XML. TallyPrime XML export: Receipt and Payment vouchers for Alt+O import, alongside Excel, CSV, QuickBooks and Xero.
- Non-expiring pack. $19 buys 100 pages that never expire, and no statement is charged more than 15 pages.
- API and email-in. REST API and email-in on every plan, including the free one.
- Your file. Deletion of your file starts when processing ends; results are kept 7 days with an account, 1 day without.
- Balance check. There is no per-bank template: every row is added up against the opening and closing balances printed on the statement, and a misread is flagged, not hidden. How the balance check works

Questions
Which of these can I try free?
Seven of the 7 listed publish a free tier rather than a trial. stmtai: 5 pages with no account, then 10 pages a month with a free account; every export included. ParseBank: 1 page a day with no account; Free plan 10 pages a month with every export format. BankQBO: First 3 statements free, once, no card; Excel and CSV with a watermark. BankXLSX: Up to 15 pages (5 per statement) once, with no card; does not renew. Suparse: 50 pages once, no card, full access. CreditCardToExcel: 2 statements a month, up to 15 pages per PDF, Excel and CSV; no signup. The free tier column has the other 1.
Does stmtai open password-protected PDFs?
Yes, as the table shows from this site's own pages. The things it does not do are listed too: 12-file batch cap, no MT940, BAI2 or camt.053 input, no analytics. The first 5 pages need no account, so the quickest check is to drop a statement in below and look at the result.
How were the tools chosen?
Each tool's homepage and pricing page were read in October 2026 and the values copied into one table with the URL they came from. A tool appears here when those pages state that it opens password-protected PDFs; ParseStatement, DocuClipper, LedgerBox, MoneyThumb, Lido, ConvertStatement, Rocket Statements, Parseur, Nanonets, Docsumo, FlowParse, CapyParse, Documentric, StatementVision, MintConvert, CleanStmt, StatementTable, StatementBridge and EasyLedger were left out because their pages do not say. Nothing is ranked by opinion; the order is stmtai first, then the tools as they appear in the table.
