Convert DBS statements to Excel.
Checked to the cent.
Drop a DBS / POSB PDF and get a clean spreadsheet, QuickBooks or Xero file in seconds. Every row is checked against the balances printed on the statement, so a misread is flagged, not hidden.

How to download a DBS statement as a PDF
- Log in to digibank Online. On the Home screen scroll down to eDocuments and click Show All.
- Choose eStatement, then filter by statement type (for example Current & Savings or Credit Card) and by year.
- Click the statement month and it opens as a PDF. Save it from the viewer. eStatements are monthly or quarterly only; ad hoc and weekly statements are still paper.
- In the digibank mobile app: tap More in the bottom bar, then eDocuments under Quick Access or Other Services, then eStatement, then the download icon on the month you want.
- DBS IDEAL (business): main menu, Accounts, select the account, then eStatements and the PDF icon. Or Reports > Account eStatements for the whole list.
Then drop the file above. Several months at once is fine; a year comes back as one workbook with a sheet per month.
Before you upload: is the PDF password-protected?
eStatements downloaded from digibank or IDEAL open without a password. DBS emails a notification that a statement is ready rather than attaching the PDF, so the file you upload will be the one you saved from the portal.
What DBS statements look like
Date, Description, Withdrawal (SGD), Deposit (SGD), Balance (SGD) with a "Balance Brought Forward" row.
DBS and POSB statements share a layout: Date, Description, Withdrawal (SGD), Deposit (SGD) and Balance (SGD), with a Balance Brought Forward row at the top of each account section and a Balance Carried Forward at the end. Dates are shown as day and short month, with the year taken from the statement period in the header, so watch that December statements issued in January land in the right year. A personal savings account is two or three pages a month; PayNow, FAST and GIRO entries make it longer because the description carries the payee name, a reference and often a mobile number or NRIC on a second or third line. A Multi-Currency Account prints one section per currency, each with its own brought-forward balance, and a consolidated statement can include several accounts and a card in one PDF. POSB branding is the logo and the product names such as POSB Everyday Savings; the table itself is the same, and Multiplier bonus interest appears as separate credit lines.
Where DBS statements trip up other converters
- For multi-currency accounts, convert one currency section at a time so each is checked against its own balance.
None of this is bank-specific configuration. The balance check catches these cases for every bank; this list just explains what you will see on a DBS file.
Why not just use DBS's own export?
On an account page in digibank you can set a period and click Download to get a file that opens in Excel, with Transaction Date, Reference, Debit Amount, Credit Amount and reference fields under a header showing the ledger and available balance. The window is short: 6 months for current and savings accounts and only the previous two months plus the current one for other account types, and there is no running balance per row. eStatements, by comparison, are kept for 7 years from the month you enrolled in eDocuments, and a printed copy of anything older costs from S$20 to S$50 per month. IDEAL business users can export MT940 and CSV, which is the better feed for ongoing bookkeeping; for history and for the official record, convert the eStatement PDF.
What you get back
- A green Balanced badge when the printed opening balance plus money in minus money out equals the printed closing balance, row by row. Or a red one pointing at the first row that does not add up, with a one-click swap if debit and credit look reversed.
- Click any misread cell, correct it, and the check re-runs before you download.
- Download Excel, CSV, QuickBooks (.qbo), Xero CSV or Tally XML, whichever Xero imports best, with a suggested category on every row.

DBS questions
Do DBS and POSB statements convert the same way?
Yes. POSB is a DBS brand and the statements come from the same system with the same columns, so the only difference you will notice is the logo and the account names. Note that POSB Passbook Savings accounts do not get eStatements at all; if a client has one of those, the transactions have to come from an updated passbook or the account has to be moved to POSB Everyday Savings first.
My DBS Multi-Currency Account statement has SGD, USD and other sections. How is that handled?
One currency per upload. Each section has its own brought-forward and carried-forward balance in its own currency, and the converter reads a file as a single statement in a single currency, so save the SGD pages and the USD pages as separate PDFs (Print to PDF with a page range) and convert each. The SGD file is then checked against the SGD balance and the USD file against the USD balance, and each lands in the right ledger account.
The consolidated statement lists three accounts and a credit card. Is that one file or four?
One PDF, read as four. Each account section and the card are picked out as separate accounts, each tied out against its own balances, the card with card sign conventions, and the workbook gets a sheet per account. If a section is ever missed, splitting the PDF by page range and uploading the set gives the same result. For a client with separate ledgers per account it is still tidier to switch the statement preference in digibank so each account gets its own eStatement.
How do I convert a DBS statement PDF to Excel?
Download the statement PDF from DBS online banking or the app, drop it on this page, and wait about 10 to 40 seconds. You get every transaction in a table, a balance check against the printed opening and closing balance, and Excel, CSV, QuickBooks, Xero and Tally XML downloads. The first 5 pages are free with no account.
Do I need a DBS template?
No. The statement is read the way a person reads it, so DBS layout changes do not break anything. What protects you is the balance check: opening balance plus money in minus money out must equal the printed closing balance, row by row.
Does it work with scanned DBS statements?
Yes. Scanned PDFs and phone photos are read visually. Blurry pages may produce a flagged row; the check tells you exactly which one to look at.
Can I import DBS transactions into Xero?
Yes. Download the .qbo file and use Upload from file in QuickBooks Online, or Web Connect import in QuickBooks Desktop. For Xero, download the Xero CSV and use Import a Statement on the bank account. Excel and CSV work everywhere else, including Google Sheets.
How many DBS statements can I convert at once?
Up to 12 files at a time, 60 pages each. A year of monthly statements comes back as one Excel workbook with an Overview sheet showing which months balanced, a sheet per month with a Category column, and a Categories sheet totalling the year by category.
What happens to my statement?
It is processed once and deletion is attempted as soon as processing finishes; an AWS lifecycle rule removes anything left behind. The extracted table becomes eligible for deletion after 7 days (1 day without an account). Nothing is used for training.
