What the table shows
Ten of the 26 converters checked in October 2026 publish a free tier and describe a balance check on their own homepage or pricing page: stmtai, ParseBank, BankQBO, LedgerBox, FlowParse, CapyParse, StatementToBudget, Documentric, StatementTable and StatementBridge. A treasurer converts a few pages a month in the evening and has to show the independent examiner that the rows agree to the bank. A small charity or club usually has one current account, sometimes a savings or reserve account, and perhaps a card. The previous treasurer's spreadsheet has formulas nobody understands and a balance that has not agreed to the bank since 2023. Documentric lists $19/month for 300 pages (Starter); $49/month for 900 pages (Professional); $129/month for 2,500 pages (Business); extra pages $0.10 each on paid plans; StatementTable lists Credit packs that never expire: $9 for 60 pages, $29 for 300, $79 for 1,000; plans $19/month for 200 pages and $49/month for 600 with unlimited users; unused packs refundable within 14 days. BankXLSX, ParseStatement, MoneyThumb, Lido, Suparse, ConvertStatement, Parseur, Nanonets, CreditCardToExcel, StatementVision, MintConvert, CleanStmt and EasyLedger do not say on the pages read whether they publish a free tier and describe a balance check, so they are left out rather than guessed. stmtai is in the list on the same terms, and so are its limits: 12-file batch cap, no MT940, BAI2 or camt.053 input, no analytics. Every cell below names the page it was read from; a value the site does not show is printed as not published.
- Tally XML. TallyPrime XML export: Receipt and Payment vouchers for Alt+O import, alongside Excel, CSV, QuickBooks and Xero.
- Non-expiring pack. $19 buys 100 pages that never expire, and no statement is charged more than 15 pages.
- API and email-in. REST API and email-in on every plan, including the free one.
- Your file. Deletion of your file starts when processing ends; results are kept 7 days with an account, 1 day without.
- Balance check. There is no per-bank template: every row is added up against the opening and closing balances printed on the statement, and a misread is flagged, not hidden. How the balance check works

Questions
Which of these can I try free?
Ten of the 10 listed publish a free tier rather than a trial. stmtai: 5 pages with no account, then 10 pages a month with a free account; every export included. ParseBank: 1 page a day with no account; Free plan 10 pages a month with every export format. BankQBO: First 3 statements free, once, no card; Excel and CSV with a watermark. LedgerBox: 14-day trial starting with 10 pages (200 after one listed action), no card; a Free plan covers 3 clients and 30 pages a month. FlowParse: 10 pages a month free, no card; Smart Merge of up to 5 files; CSV and Excel export; API access. CapyParse: 10 free pages on the Free plan, no expiry, no credit card; CSV, Excel and QBO export. The free tier column has the other 4.
Does stmtai publish a free tier and describe a balance check?
Yes, as the table shows from this site's own pages. The things it does not do are listed too: 12-file batch cap, no MT940, BAI2 or camt.053 input, no analytics. The first 5 pages need no account, so the quickest check is to drop a statement in below and look at the result.
How were the tools chosen?
Each tool's homepage and pricing page were read in October 2026 and the values copied into one table with the URL they came from. A tool appears here when those pages state that it publishes a free tier and describes a balance check; BankXLSX, ParseStatement, MoneyThumb, Lido, Suparse, ConvertStatement, Parseur, Nanonets, CreditCardToExcel, StatementVision, MintConvert, CleanStmt and EasyLedger were left out because their pages do not say. Nothing is ranked by opinion; the order is stmtai first, then the tools as they appear in the table.
Why is "Free tier" the deciding column for nonprofits?
The free tier cell has to be a standing allowance that covers a small charity's monthly pages; the balance check cell says the tool proves the rows against the printed balances, which is what the examiner asks for. A tool whose cell is not published is named above as left out rather than guessed.
Is there a page on this site for non-profits and treasurers?
Yes: "Bank reconciliation a treasurer can hand over", linked under Related. You took the treasurer role because somebody had to, and the previous treasurer handed you a folder and a spreadsheet you did not build. The board wants to see the accounts each quarter and the independent examiner wants to see them once a year. Whatever you set up needs to survive you handing it on in two years.
