How to download a Chime statement as a PDF
- Open the Chime app and tap "Profile" (top left).
- Tap "Documents", then "Account statements".
- Select the account (Checking, Savings, Credit Builder or Chime Card) and the month.
- Tap the export icon at the top right and save or share the PDF.
- On chime.com: Log In, then Profile > Documents, and under Account Statements pick the account and month; the statement downloads as a PDF.
Then drop the file above. Several months at once is fine; a year comes back as one workbook with a sheet per month.
Before you upload: is the PDF password-protected?
Not protected. The PDF opens without a password on any device.
What Chime statements look like
App-generated PDF with a single table: Date, Description, Amount, Balance. Checking and Savings are separate documents.
Chime is a financial technology company, not a bank, and the header says so: the statement is issued by The Bancorp Bank, N.A. or Stride Bank, N.A., whichever holds the account, and that is the bank your software will record. A checking statement is two to four pages for a typical user, with a single table of Date, Description, Amount and Balance, amounts signed so that spending shows as a negative. Because the balance is printed on every row, a dropped line is caught immediately rather than at the end. Round-up transfers to Savings, SpotMe adjustments and Pay Anyone transfers all appear as ordinary lines. Where several products are held, the PDF has a section per account with its own ending balance, and one section can read zero while the money sits in another.
Where Chime statements trip up other converters
- Amounts are signed (negative = out) and a running balance is printed on every row, so the check is row-by-row exact.
None of this is bank-specific configuration. The balance check catches these cases for every bank; this list just explains what you will see on a Chime file.
Why not just use Chime's own export?
There is no export. Chime offers no CSV, QFX, QBO or OFX download from the app or the website as of 2026, and it does not mail paper statements either. What you can get is the monthly PDF, generated for Checking and Savings by calendar month and for Credit Builder by billing cycle, with roughly a year and a half of history in the Documents list. Converting the PDF is therefore not a choice against a native export; it is the route.
What you get back
- A green Balanced badge when the printed opening balance plus money in minus money out equals the printed closing balance, row by row. Or a red one pointing at the first row that does not add up, with a one-click swap if debit and credit look reversed.
- Click any misread cell, correct it, and the check re-runs before you download.
- Download Excel, CSV, QuickBooks (.qbo), Xero CSV or Tally XML, whichever Excel imports best, with a suggested category on every row.

Chime questions
Which bank do I set up in QuickBooks for a Chime account?
Use the issuing bank named at the top of the statement, either The Bancorp Bank or Stride Bank, and put Chime in the account nickname. The bank on the header was fixed when the account was opened and does not change. It matters for lender packages and for anyone reading your books later, since Chime itself does not appear in bank directories.
Can I get a partial-month or custom-dated Chime statement?
No. Chime confirms it cannot produce a statement shorter than a month, and there is no date-range statement request. If you need activity for the first half of a month, convert the full statement and filter the rows by date in the spreadsheet.
Why does my Credit Builder statement look different from checking?
Credit Builder is a secured card, so its section is titled a Billing Statement and follows a card layout with a billing cycle rather than a calendar month. Amounts run the card way, purchases increasing the balance owed. Convert it as a card statement, not as a bank account, and the totals will tie.
How do I convert a Chime statement PDF to Excel?
Download the statement PDF from Chime online banking or the app, drop it on this page, and wait about 10 to 40 seconds. You get every transaction in a table, a balance check against the printed opening and closing balance, and Excel, CSV, QuickBooks, Xero and Tally XML downloads. The first 5 pages are free with no account.
Do I need a Chime template?
No. The statement is read the way a person reads it, so Chime layout changes do not break anything. What protects you is the balance check: opening balance plus money in minus money out must equal the printed closing balance, row by row.
Does it work with scanned Chime statements?
Yes. Scanned PDFs and phone photos are read visually. Blurry pages may produce a flagged row; the check tells you exactly which one to look at.
Can I import Chime transactions into Excel?
Yes. Excel and CSV work everywhere else, including Google Sheets.
How many Chime statements can I convert at once?
Up to 12 files at a time, 60 pages each. A year of monthly statements comes back as one Excel workbook with an Overview sheet showing which months balanced, a sheet per month with a Category column, and a Categories sheet totalling the year by category.
What happens to my statement?
It is processed once and deletion is attempted as soon as processing finishes; an AWS lifecycle rule removes anything left behind. The extracted table becomes eligible for deletion after 7 days (1 day without an account). Nothing is used for training.
