Convert Huntington statements to Excel.
Checked to the cent.

Drop a Huntington National Bank PDF and get a clean spreadsheet, QuickBooks or Xero file in seconds. Every row is checked against the balances printed on the statement, so a misread is flagged, not hidden.

How to download a Huntington statement as a PDF

  1. Log in to Huntington Online Banking and click the Statements tab (older layouts label it Statements & Notices).
  2. Choose the account and the statement date. Up to two years of statements are listed.
  3. Click View to open the statement, then save the PDF with the download icon in the viewer.
  4. In the Huntington Mobile app, open the account, tap Statements, choose the month and save it from the share menu.
  5. Business Online customers find statements under the Accounts tab; the Reports menu there exports activity, but that is not the statement.

Then drop the file above. Several months at once is fine; a year comes back as one workbook with a sheet per month.

Before you upload: is the PDF password-protected?

Huntington statements are not encrypted. The PDF you download opens straight away and needs no password removed.

What Huntington statements look like

A summary of Beginning Balance, Credits (+), Debits (-), Total Fees (-) and Ending Balance, then Deposit / Credit Activity (+) and debit and check activity sections with Date, Description and Amount, and no balance on the rows.

The header reads Statement Activity From: with the period in MM/DD/YY form, and personal cycles close mid-month, for example the 14th to the 13th. Page one summarises Beginning Balance, Credits (+), Debits (-), Total Fees (-) and Ending Balance, and also prints Average Balance and Low Balance, which are informational and not part of the tie-out. Activity follows in sections marked with their sign: Deposit / Credit Activity (+) lists Date, Description and Amount, and the debit and check sections that follow are marked (-). Rows carry no balance, so the ending balance is the only arithmetic proof on the page. Descriptions are terse and upper case, such as HUNTINGTON BANK ACCTS PYBL or CHECKING RESERVE TRANSFER. Asterisk-Free Checking statements run four to six pages, and Huntington often puts checking and savings on one PDF with a summary for each. Statements are online for 24 months only.

Where Huntington statements trip up other converters

  • No running balance is printed per row, so the only proof is beginning balance plus credits minus debits equals the ending balance, and one missed row shows up there.
  • Checking and savings are commonly on one PDF with their own summaries; the totals only tie out when each account is converted from its own pages.
  • Statements older than about two years are not online, and former TCF Bank customers may have no pre-merger history in the portal at all.

None of this is bank-specific configuration. The balance check catches these cases for every bank; this list just explains what you will see on a Huntington file.

Why not just use Huntington's own export?

Personal customers can use Download Transactions on the Account Details page, choosing the past month or a custom date range and a format of Quicken, QuickBooks or CSV. It is a feed of recent posted activity rather than a statement: no beginning or ending balance, no daily balances, and Huntington does not publish how far back the custom range can go, though its own QuickBooks Online guide says a fresh connection pulls about 90 days. Business Online has a separate Reports menu where an activity report for a date range can be exported as CSV, Excel, BAI2, Quicken or QuickBooks. Neither route helps former TCF Bank customers, whose pre-merger history may not be in the portal at all, and neither reaches past the two years of statements Huntington keeps online.

What you get back

  1. A green Balanced badge when the printed opening balance plus money in minus money out equals the printed closing balance, row by row. Or a red one pointing at the first row that does not add up, with a one-click swap if debit and credit look reversed.
  2. Click any misread cell, correct it, and the check re-runs before you download.
  3. Download Excel, CSV, QuickBooks (.qbo), Xero CSV or Tally XML, whichever QuickBooks Online imports best, with a suggested category on every row.

Huntington questions

My Huntington statement has checking and savings on one PDF. Does the balance check still work?

Per account, yes, once the PDF is split. Each account has its own Beginning Balance and Ending Balance in its own summary, and a single file is read as a single statement. Print the checking pages to one PDF and the savings pages to another, upload both, and each comes back as its own sheet checked against its own balances. Transfers between the two then appear once on each side.

Huntington only keeps two years of statements online. Where do older ones come from?

From Huntington directly, by secure message, phone or a branch; retrieval can take time and may carry a fee per statement. If you were a TCF customer before the merger, ask specifically for the TCF period, because that history may not be in the Huntington portal. Whatever comes back, native PDF or scan, is converted the same way, with the ending balance as the check.

There is no balance next to each transaction on my Huntington statement. How is the closing balance verified?

By the summary. Huntington prints Beginning Balance, total Credits, total Debits, Total Fees and Ending Balance, and the rows have to reproduce that: start from the beginning figure, add every credit row, subtract every debit and fee row, and land on the ending figure. If they do not, the row where the running total first diverges is flagged and you can correct the cell and re-check.

How do I convert a Huntington statement PDF to Excel?

Download the statement PDF from Huntington online banking or the app, drop it on this page, and wait about 10 to 40 seconds. You get every transaction in a table, a balance check against the printed opening and closing balance, and Excel, CSV, QuickBooks, Xero and Tally XML downloads. The first 5 pages are free with no account.

Do I need a Huntington template?

No. The statement is read the way a person reads it, so Huntington layout changes do not break anything. What protects you is the balance check: opening balance plus money in minus money out must equal the printed closing balance, row by row.

Does it work with scanned Huntington statements?

Yes. Scanned PDFs and phone photos are read visually. Blurry pages may produce a flagged row; the check tells you exactly which one to look at.

Can I import Huntington transactions into QuickBooks Online?

Yes. Download the .qbo file and use Upload from file in QuickBooks Online, or Web Connect import in QuickBooks Desktop. Excel and CSV work everywhere else, including Quicken.

How many Huntington statements can I convert at once?

Up to 12 files at a time, 60 pages each. A year of monthly statements comes back as one Excel workbook with an Overview sheet showing which months balanced, a sheet per month with a Category column, and a Categories sheet totalling the year by category.

What happens to my statement?

It is processed once and deletion is attempted as soon as processing finishes; an AWS lifecycle rule removes anything left behind. The extracted table becomes eligible for deletion after 7 days (1 day without an account). Nothing is used for training.
