Convert Regions statements to Excel.
Checked to the cent.

Drop a Regions Bank PDF and get a clean spreadsheet, QuickBooks or Xero file in seconds. Every row is checked against the balances printed on the statement, so a misread is flagged, not hidden.

How to download a Regions statement as a PDF

  1. Log in to Regions Online Banking and open the Accounts menu at the top of the page.
  2. Select Online Statements. This lands on the Online Statements & Documents page.
  3. Pick the account and the statement date. The Enclosures tab beside it holds check images, which you do not need for a conversion.
  4. Click the statement to view it, then use the download control to save the PDF.
  5. In the Regions mobile app, open the account, tap the Statements tab in account details, choose the year from the drop-down and download the PDF.

Then drop the file above. Several months at once is fine; a year comes back as one workbook with a sheet per month.

Before you upload: is the PDF password-protected?

Regions online statements download as ordinary PDFs with no password. There is nothing to strip before you upload.

What Regions statements look like

Summary box on page one, then DEPOSITS & CREDITS, WITHDRAWALS, FEES and CHECKS sections with Date, Description and Amount, followed by a DAILY BALANCE SUMMARY table laid out in three column pairs.

A personal Regions checking cycle usually closes mid-month, for example the 17th of one month to the 13th of the next, and a LifeGreen or Now Checking statement is three to five pages. Page one has a summary box: Beginning Balance, Deposits & Credits, Withdrawals, Fees, Automatic Transfers, Checks and Ending Balance. The activity then follows in capitalised sections, DEPOSITS & CREDITS, WITHDRAWALS, FEES and CHECKS, each with Date, Description and Amount and its own total, and the paper statement fee or monthly fee sits in the FEES section rather than among withdrawals. CHECKS is a compact grid of number, date and amount printed in two or three side-by-side columns, with an asterisk marking a gap in the numbering. Rows carry no balance; the DAILY BALANCE SUMMARY at the end lists Date and Balance in three column pairs, and that is what the running balance is proved against. Dates are MM/DD with the year taken from the statement period. Business statements use the same sections but run longer and often add an image page of cleared checks.

Where Regions statements trip up other converters

  • Fees are a separate section from Withdrawals, so a reader that stops after the withdrawals block is short by the monthly fee, and the ending balance check shows the gap.
  • The CHECKS grid and the DAILY BALANCE SUMMARY are both printed in side-by-side columns; reading them strictly left to right interleaves dates from different columns.

None of this is bank-specific configuration. The balance check catches these cases for every bank; this list just explains what you will see on a Regions file.

Why not just use Regions's own export?

Regions supports Web Connect: on the account transaction history there is a Download option where you pick a date range and a file type, with QuickBooks (QBO) and Quicken (QFX) alongside a comma-separated file. The Regions help pages walk through the steps but do not state how far back the date range can reach, so test it against your oldest statement before you plan a catch-up around it. The file carries posted transactions only, with no beginning or ending balance and no daily balances, and the check number is folded into the description. Regions keeps roughly seven years of statements online for enrolled accounts, so for any period the download will not reach, or for a month you intend to reconcile, the PDF has what the export lacks.

What you get back

  1. A green Balanced badge when the printed opening balance plus money in minus money out equals the printed closing balance, row by row. Or a red one pointing at the first row that does not add up, with a one-click swap if debit and credit look reversed.
  2. Click any misread cell, correct it, and the check re-runs before you download.
  3. Download Excel, CSV, QuickBooks (.qbo), Xero CSV or Tally XML, whichever QuickBooks Online imports best, with a suggested category on every row.

Regions questions

The Daily Balance Summary on my Regions statement is three columns of dates and balances side by side. How is that read?

Column by column, not line by line. Each pair of Date and Balance is one entry, so the summary is rebuilt as a single list of dates in order. The rows in the activity sections carry no balance of their own, so this table is where the running balance comes from: the computed balance after the last transaction on each date has to equal the figure printed for that date.

Fees are a separate section from Withdrawals on the Regions statement. Do they come through as debits?

Yes. FEES rows are money out in the same way as WITHDRAWALS rows, and they are placed in date order with everything else. The summary box on page one shows Fees as its own total, and the ending balance only ties out when that total is included, so a dropped fee row is exactly the kind of thing the check flags.

Do I need the check images from the Enclosures tab as well?

No. The CHECKS grid on the statement already has the check number, the date it cleared and the amount, and that is what ends up in the spreadsheet, with the number in the description. The images are useful if you need to see who a check was written to, but they are a separate document and are not part of the conversion.

How do I convert a Regions statement PDF to Excel?

Download the statement PDF from Regions online banking or the app, drop it on this page, and wait about 10 to 40 seconds. You get every transaction in a table, a balance check against the printed opening and closing balance, and Excel, CSV, QuickBooks, Xero and Tally XML downloads. The first 5 pages are free with no account.

Do I need a Regions template?

No. The statement is read the way a person reads it, so Regions layout changes do not break anything. What protects you is the balance check: opening balance plus money in minus money out must equal the printed closing balance, row by row.

Does it work with scanned Regions statements?

Yes. Scanned PDFs and phone photos are read visually. Blurry pages may produce a flagged row; the check tells you exactly which one to look at.

Can I import Regions transactions into QuickBooks Online?

Yes. Download the .qbo file and use Upload from file in QuickBooks Online, or Web Connect import in QuickBooks Desktop. For Xero, download the Xero CSV and use Import a Statement on the bank account. Excel and CSV work everywhere else, including Google Sheets.

How many Regions statements can I convert at once?

Up to 12 files at a time, 60 pages each. A year of monthly statements comes back as one Excel workbook with an Overview sheet showing which months balanced, a sheet per month with a Category column, and a Categories sheet totalling the year by category.

What happens to my statement?

It is processed once and deletion is attempted as soon as processing finishes; an AWS lifecycle rule removes anything left behind. The extracted table becomes eligible for deletion after 7 days (1 day without an account). Nothing is used for training.
