Convert Wise statements to Excel.
Checked to the cent.
Drop a Wise (formerly TransferWise) PDF and get a clean spreadsheet, QuickBooks or Xero file in seconds. Every row is checked against the balances printed on the statement, so a misread is flagged, not hidden.

How to download a Wise statement as a PDF
- In the Wise app or at wise.com, open the currency balance (or Jar) you need.
- Tap the three dots in the top-right corner and choose "Statements and reports".
- Pick the document type: the statement as PDF, CSV or XLSX, or one of the accounting export formats.
- Set the date range, up to 365 days per statement; longer periods need several files.
- Enter your Wise password to confirm, then save the download.
- The same menu is reachable from your initials in the top corner, and a separate "Statement of fees" is offered alongside.
Then drop the file above. Several months at once is fine; a year comes back as one workbook with a sheet per month.
Before you upload: is the PDF password-protected?
Wise asks for your account password before it generates the file, but the PDF itself is not encrypted and opens freely once saved.
What Wise statements look like
Per-currency statement PDF with Date, Description, Amount, Running balance and a separate fee line for each conversion.
Each currency is its own statement with its own IBAN or account details in the header and a running balance in that currency; there is no consolidated statement across balances. A conversion shows as a line out of one currency statement and a line into the other, with the fee shown on its own line rather than folded into the rate. Card spend in a currency you do not hold is converted on the fly and appears on the balance that funded it, with the original amount in the description. Dates are DD-MM-YYYY on most profiles and the statement includes hidden activities such as auto-conversions. Transfers you paid for by card or bank transfer from outside Wise are not on any balance statement; those live in the Transactions list and its separate download.
Where Wise statements trip up other converters
- Each currency balance is a separate statement, reconciled in that currency; the QuickBooks export sets the currency code (CURDEF) to match.
None of this is bank-specific configuration. The balance check catches these cases for every bank; this list just explains what you will see on a Wise file.
Why not just use Wise's own export?
Wise gives you the statement in CSV and XLSX as well as PDF, plus accounting exports formatted for QuickBooks, Xero and others, all from the same menu and with a running balance included. That is a better native export than most banks manage, and for one currency over one year the CSV is fine to import directly. Two things send people to the PDF: the CSV column set has changed over the years, so older and newer files do not stack cleanly, and business accounts with many balances end up with a dozen files that all need the same tidy-up. Converting the PDFs gives you one consistent layout across currencies and years.
What you get back
- A green Balanced badge when the printed opening balance plus money in minus money out equals the printed closing balance, row by row. Or a red one pointing at the first row that does not add up, with a one-click swap if debit and credit look reversed.
- Click any misread cell, correct it, and the check re-runs before you download.
- Download Excel, CSV, QuickBooks (.qbo), Xero CSV or Tally XML, whichever Xero imports best, with a suggested category on every row.

Wise questions
I hold six currencies. Do I really need six statements?
Yes, and six ledger accounts to match. Each balance reconciles only in its own currency, and the converter sets the currency code in the QuickBooks export from the statement header so each file lands in the right account. Conversions between balances then post as transfers with the fee as a separate expense line.
Why is my Wise fee not in the exchange rate like at a bank?
Wise charges the fee explicitly and converts at the mid-market rate, so the fee prints as its own line on the statement of the currency you converted from. Book it as bank charges rather than burying it in an exchange gain or loss. The Statement of fees document summarizes them by month if you want a single figure.
Can I get more than a year in one file?
Not from Wise. The limit is 365 days per statement, so a multi-year history means several downloads per currency. Name the files by currency and period as you go, then convert them in one batch; the running balance at the end of one file should equal the opening line of the next.
How do I convert a Wise statement PDF to Excel?
Download the statement PDF from Wise online banking or the app, drop it on this page, and wait about 10 to 40 seconds. You get every transaction in a table, a balance check against the printed opening and closing balance, and Excel, CSV, QuickBooks, Xero and Tally XML downloads. The first 5 pages are free with no account.
Do I need a Wise template?
No. The statement is read the way a person reads it, so Wise layout changes do not break anything. What protects you is the balance check: opening balance plus money in minus money out must equal the printed closing balance, row by row.
Does it work with scanned Wise statements?
Yes. Scanned PDFs and phone photos are read visually. Blurry pages may produce a flagged row; the check tells you exactly which one to look at.
Can I import Wise transactions into Xero?
Yes. Download the .qbo file and use Upload from file in QuickBooks Online, or Web Connect import in QuickBooks Desktop. For Xero, download the Xero CSV and use Import a Statement on the bank account. Excel and CSV work everywhere else, including Google Sheets.
How many Wise statements can I convert at once?
Up to 12 files at a time, 60 pages each. A year of monthly statements comes back as one Excel workbook with an Overview sheet showing which months balanced, a sheet per month with a Category column, and a Categories sheet totalling the year by category.
What happens to my statement?
It is processed once and deletion is attempted as soon as processing finishes; an AWS lifecycle rule removes anything left behind. The extracted table becomes eligible for deletion after 7 days (1 day without an account). Nothing is used for training.
