How to download a TD Canada Trust statement as a PDF
- Log in to EasyWeb. Select the profile menu at the top right, then Statements & Documents. On older layouts this is a link on the left of the My Accounts page.
- Pick the account from the dropdown, then the statement period you want.
- The statement opens as a PDF in an overlay. Use the download or save icon to keep a copy.
- Repeat for each month. TD does not offer a download-all button, so a full year is twelve saves.
- In the TD app: tap the account, then Statements & Documents from the menu, choose the month, and use the share or save option.
Then drop the file above. Several months at once is fine; a year comes back as one workbook with a sheet per month.
Before you upload: is the PDF password-protected?
TD statement PDFs are not password-protected. They open directly in any reader.
What TD Canada Trust statements look like
Description, Withdrawals, Deposits, Date, Balance (the date column sits in the middle of the row).
TD is the one where the columns catch people out. The order is Description, Withdrawals, Deposits, Date, Balance, with the date sitting after the amounts, and the dates themselves are compact, like JAN02, with the year only in the statement heading. The first row is STARTING BALANCE and the last is CLOSING BALANCE, both in capitals. Descriptions are terse and also upper case: SEND E-TFR with a partial reference, TD ATM W/D, MONTHLY PLAN FEE, and cheques as CHQ# followed by the number. A personal account statement is usually two or three pages; a Business Chequing statement with a Paperless Record-Keeping plan can run longer because cleared cheque details are listed. US dollar accounts at TD are statemented separately and look the same, so name the files clearly when you save them.
Where TD Canada Trust statements trip up other converters
- Unusual column order (date after amounts) is handled because columns are read by header, not position.
None of this is bank-specific configuration. The balance check catches these cases for every bank; this list just explains what you will see on a TD Canada Trust file.
Why not just use TD Canada Trust's own export?
EasyWeb exports to Quicken, QuickBooks, CSV and Simply Accounting through the Download Transactions screen off the My Accounts page. The catch is the window: each download gives you activity since your last download, capped at 45 days, so you cannot pull a back year in one go. The file also lacks the running balance and the STARTING BALANCE and CLOSING BALANCE figures that the statement carries. Online statements are kept for 7 years, which is why the PDF is usually the more complete record for anything beyond the last month or two.
What you get back
- A green Balanced badge when the printed opening balance plus money in minus money out equals the printed closing balance, row by row. Or a red one pointing at the first row that does not add up, with a one-click swap if debit and credit look reversed.
- Click any misread cell, correct it, and the check re-runs before you download.
- Download Excel, CSV, QuickBooks (.qbo), Xero CSV or Tally XML, whichever QuickBooks Online imports best, with a suggested category on every row.

TD Canada Trust questions
Why does my TD statement have the date in the middle of the row?
That is just how TD lays out the Statement of Account. Columns are read by their headers rather than by position, so the Date column is picked up wherever it sits and the output comes out in the usual Date, Description, Debit, Credit, Balance order.
The EasyWeb CSV only gave me 45 days. How do I get the rest of the year?
That limit is built into the Download Transactions feature and there is no setting to widen it. Go to Statements & Documents instead, save the monthly PDFs for the period you need, and convert those. Each statement carries its own starting and closing balance, so you can confirm the months chain together.
How do I convert a TD Canada Trust statement PDF to Excel?
Download the statement PDF from TD Canada Trust online banking or the app, drop it on this page, and wait about 10 to 40 seconds. You get every transaction in a table, a balance check against the printed opening and closing balance, and Excel, CSV, QuickBooks, Xero and Tally XML downloads. The first 5 pages are free with no account.
Do I need a TD Canada Trust template?
No. The statement is read the way a person reads it, so TD Canada Trust layout changes do not break anything. What protects you is the balance check: opening balance plus money in minus money out must equal the printed closing balance, row by row.
Does it work with scanned TD Canada Trust statements?
Yes. Scanned PDFs and phone photos are read visually. Blurry pages may produce a flagged row; the check tells you exactly which one to look at.
Can I import TD Canada Trust transactions into QuickBooks Online?
Yes. Download the .qbo file and use Upload from file in QuickBooks Online, or Web Connect import in QuickBooks Desktop. Excel and CSV work everywhere else, including Google Sheets.
How many TD Canada Trust statements can I convert at once?
Up to 12 files at a time, 60 pages each. A year of monthly statements comes back as one Excel workbook with an Overview sheet showing which months balanced, a sheet per month with a Category column, and a Categories sheet totalling the year by category.
What happens to my statement?
It is processed once and deletion is attempted as soon as processing finishes; an AWS lifecycle rule removes anything left behind. The extracted table becomes eligible for deletion after 7 days (1 day without an account). Nothing is used for training.
